NewsFishing Report - Detroit River - April 7th 2008Capt. Mitch: Well guys Billy Jr. and myself got to get the big Alaskan in the water Sunday,we put her in down at St. Jeans about 6:00 am basically had the ramp to ourselves. The fishing was pretty much what we had expeted ,you have to work very hard.Water conditions are tough,very stained and still very cold (39 deg) . We managed to jig a few nice eyes , all males in the 2 1/2 to 3 lb range, we problaby had about 10 or 12 bites total,fished until 1:30 pm, covering Alter Rd. to the Joe ,( GO WINGS) the the Rock Pile before the Ren Cen seemed to hold the most biters.Just a reminder the 1st annual Rose Marine Fishing tounanament is Sunday May 18th so stop in the shop for all the details. St. Clair River - North Channel - April 5th 2008 RMS: As of last week the St. Clair River was full of ice requiring the assitance of the ice breaker to come down and loosen things up. As of Sat. the 5th, the North Channel was open and free flowing with cloudy water. A few fishermen were out in front of Decker's Landing, with only one report of walleye being caught. Stay Tuned. |
